Goal

Our goal is to increase opportunities for students to improve their social and emotional well-being, to be physically active without equipment, and to maintain a safe distance during recess and physical education classes during this pandemic. 

 

What will be done with my students

The Physical Activity Circuit Stencils will be places on sidewalks and hard courts to create a safe environment to play and be physically active. During recess, students will be able to go through the circuit at their leisure. During physical education classes, the teacher will use the circuits with more structure within the daily lessons.
Since the stencils are reusable, they may be used again as the stencils fade and used within multiple areas of the school. Additionally, the website in which we intend to purchase the stencils from states "Site License — As of August 25, 2016, all stencil purchases include a limited multi-use site license for up to 10 sites." This allows us the opportunity to share the stencils with other schools and playground areas. 

 

Benefits to my students

Since we are currently in a pandemic and trying to find ways to keep our students safe as we return to school, we want to find ways to keep our students activite without the use of equipment. This activity circuit allows all students the opportunity to be physically active and engaged during both physical education classes and recess while maintaining a safe environment for our students. There are so many changes and restrictions put on our students this year that it's important for their social and emotional well-being to have safe opportunities to play. Students are able to improve their motor development, flexibility, strength, and coordination through the different activities available.  

 

Budget Narrative

The stencils are reusable and can be shared among 10 different sites, so other schools can benefit from this item.
The paint comes with all of the necessary supplies to display the different fitness activities on the pavement.
