Goal
Students in third grade learn what multiplication and division are. In order to become fluent in their facts it takes time and practice. By having the extra resources, students will be able to practice their facts and become more fluent thus helping them in many different topics in third grade and moving into higher grades.
What will be done with my students
Students who practice their facts become more fluent and will not have to rely on their strategies as frequently. Students who rely on strategies are slowed down by doing the work by either skip counting or repeated addition thus leaving room for errors. However, if students are fluent in their facts they are less likely to be slowed down and have errors. Students will have the confidence to work through their math problems without having to doubt their strategies.
Benefits to my students
Students will become fluent in their multiplication and division facts.
