Goal
Our goal is to help our students keep their dreams and dream big. Many of our students in the medical academy begin dreaming of becoming a surgeon while in the classroom, we hope to encourage them to pursue those dreams and provide them with a basic sample of what it feels to achieve their big dream.
What will be done with my students
Students will be introduced to laparoscopy. Laparoscopy is a surgical procedure in which a fiber-optic instrument is inserted through the abdominal wall to view the organs in the abdomen or to permit a surgical procedure. Students receive the opportunity to perform a simple and basic simulate surgery skill, using real surgical instruments. This will be one of the many opportunities our students have to explore and experience different medical career opportunities.
Benefits to my students
Students will receive a unique opportunity to experience the intricate details of performing a surgical procedure first hand. This, along with many other classroom tools and supplies, will help students discover new career paths or reinforced their desire to dream big and achieve big career goals.
Budget Narrative
A complete simple set to experience and practice laparoscopic surgery. It provides simulate surgery conditions to give students a real-life feeling of what it is to perform surgical procedures.
