Goal

Teacher proximity to students helps students stay engaged in lessons but having to be at the front of the room for the majority of my instruction limits my proximity to students who don't sit in the front of the room. I would like to get a Wacom Wireless Tablet that will allow me to be in any part of my classroom while writing on my board to instruct students on how to solve various math problems. 

 

What will be done with my students

I plan to use my wireless tablet during every instructional lesson with every core math class. As a math teacher, I spend the majority of my class time providing direct instruction from the front of the classroom. It is challenging to keep the lesson flowing while checking on individual student note taking and understanding. I will be able to use my tablet year after year which will positively impact future students. 

 

Benefits to my students

I will be able to move around the classroom during my instruction to check on student engagement and understanding. Increased engagement and understanding will promote positive learning outcomes for my students. I expect my students will become stronger mathematicians which they will demonstrate by making significant learning gains on their periodic STAR assessments as well as the Florida Standards Assessment (FSA) administered every spring.

The Wacom Intuos Pro Creative Tablet and protective case will be used by myself.
