Goal

My goal is to replace our old broken skeleton that is held together with tape and paper clips. A new model will helps students interact with bones and the content to give them a better understanding of how their own skeleton works no matter what language they speak.

What will be done with my students

Students will use the model to identify the different bones, types of bones, types of joints, and see how they move.

Benefits to my students

THE GREAT VALUE of using models in instruction is that they enable objects, events, or ideas, whether they be complex or abstract, to be rendered into forms that are either simpler or visually more concrete. As students actively work with models, they are more likely to remember and transfer their learning to new situations. Effective active learning activities increase student knowledge acquisition, content retention, and critical thinking.
Activities that involve models are the most common tools used to incorporate active learning and promote structure visualization, no matter what language a student might speak.

Budget Narrative

The cost includes the skeleton model and taxes. The skeleton does come with a warranty and dust cover.
