Goal

The goal is for students to develop a love for reading through diverse and appealing literature.

What will be done with my students

The Sunshine State Young Readers Award Jr. is a program created by the Florida Association for Media in Education. This program was designed to develop student interest in reading for pleasure by exposing them to a wide range of appropriate literature. All 15 Sunshine State books will be read to our kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd graders. Students will vote for their favorite book after reading all titles.

Benefits to my students

Students will improve their reading skills and develop a love for reading by exposing them to a variety of diverse literature.

Budget Narrative

All 15 books will be purchased from Barnes and Noble.
