Goal
The goal of this project is to allow students to participate in the FIRST LEGO League Challenge, which is an annual robotics competition.
What will be done with my students
Students will meet twice weekly after school for educational enrichment sessions. Students will understand the basics of STEM and learn skills in robotics, including building and programming robots to perform specific tasks. Students will then apply their skills in a competition while building building confidence and learning how to work as a team.
Benefits to my students
Students will become proficient in programing the LEGO SPIKE Prime robots, giving them confidence to tackle future programming endeavors. Students will build real life skills, such as teamwork. Students will participate in the FIRST LEGO League Challenge with their robots.
Budget Narrative
The cost of the team registrations pays for two student teams to be able to attend competition. The Challenge Sets include a challenge mat with paths that the robots need to follow, as well as specific locations where the robots need to perform certain tasks. The Challenge Sets also include exclusive sets of LEGO elements that are used to build season-specific mission models. Two Challenge Sets are requested, one for each team.
