Goal
The goal of this project is to teach students how to engineer a robot that uses solar power. This will also allows them to learn problem solving, teamwork and logical thinking while incorporating currently science and math standards.
What will be done with my students
This project is geared towards Third to Fifth grade students and directly relates to Florida's Computer Science Standards and the Next Generation Sunshine State Standards for Science. Not only will students learn about engineering but also about renewable energy, like solar power, which is how this robot moves. They will also collaborate with others and must problem solve during the design process. These robots will be utilized this year and can be used in the following years as well.
Benefits to my students
This will benefit my students by creating long lasting and authentic learning in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math!
