Goal

The goal of this project is to provide students with leveled texts so that they can read and thrive at home and at school.  

 

What will be done with my students

The project will benefit students reading ability in a multitude of ways. There are 6 complete sets of 130 different leveled texts, both fiction and nonfiction. The books will be used to supplement classroom materials and meet students on their level. It also provides students with the opportunity to take the texts home, which gives them more opportunities to access texts. A large amount of students are considered below level and finding books to meet their needs, on their reading level, is challenging for parents. Being able to send these texts home will assist parents and students in furthering the students' reading ability. These texts will be used for many years.  

 

Benefits to my students

Through the implementation on using these leveled texts, students will gain more confidence in their ability to read. Their increase in confidence will correlate to their reading scores throughout the year. Additionally, families will enjoy their time together reading texts on the students' reading level.
