Goal
Students will work with a partner to utilize science standards through Lego's. Students will be given proposals for solving real world issues like communicating. Students will design a blueprint for what they will build. Then students will create a program using the WeDo app to make the Lego's complete the mission.
What will be done with my students
Students will use nature of science skills like measuring, communicating, predicting, inferring, observing. Students will also use math skills like dividing and multiplying in the programing to make their Lego design go faster or predict what numbers will appear on the screen. The programming students will use will also allow them investigate sound energy of a wind mill by making a windmill with the Lego's and creating a WeDo program that will have sound and motion.
Benefits to my students
At the end of each lesson students will be given a scoring rubric where they will score themselves on their design, programming and the data they collected. Also, students will be asked an essential question about a specific standard and that will be how I know students understand the science standard and how it applied to Lego's.
