Goal
Read 180 is an intensive reading intervention program designed to meet the needs of students whose reading achievement is below the proficient level. The program directly addresses individual needs through adaptive and instructional software, high-interest literature, and direct instruction in reading and writing skills.
What will be done with my students
This program requires students to listen to audio, practice fluency, and hear themselves read on a daily basis. Students often do not bring headphones daily to school which inhibits them from being able to utilize this program in its entirety. This hinders their learning and ability to make gains in reading comprehension and fluency skills.
Benefits to my students
The purpose of this grants is to provide the Intensive Reading teachers at GVM with full class sets of headphones. These would stay in the classroom and be for classroom use only so students are fully engaged and immersed in this in this beneficial program for their reading growth.
Budget Narrative
This budget is for each intensive reading teacher to have a class set of earbuds.
