Goal
My goal is to turn my classroom into a learning space that support all types of students and all types of learning. I plan on doing this through providing my students with flexible seating in the classroom.
What will be done with my students
My students will be provided with a variety of seating options in order to promote an exemplary learning environment. In my current classrooms, the only option for flexible seating is by pulling a small group to the carpet. I would like to see a variety of seating options in my classroom: desks, lower tables with floor cushions, and tall tables to stand while learning.
Benefits to my students
Providing my students with a variety of seating options will improve the quality of their educational experience. Some of the scientifically based benefits include: student choice, health, comfort, community, collaboration, communication, and FUN! I believe that a classroom that provides students with these learning traits will optimize student learning. My students love to communicate and collaborate. I would love the furniture to match these passions in our room.
Budget Narrative
The items that I have selected above are all located on Amazon. I have selected:
- two high adjustable standing desk with gray adjustable chairs so my students can use the desks and chairs in a low or high seating level
- the short floor tables and 8 floor cushions will provide a flexible seating area for students who like to work from the floor
-the 10 surf desk will change any chair or floor space into a desk space
