Goal

To have an area in the classroom for students to calm down so that they can quickly return to learning.  

 

What will be done with my students

Students will have an area in the classroom that they can go to when they become angry or upset, needing a moment to calm down and reset. This part of our classroom will include different books, activities, and fidgets to help my students self regulate and quickly return to the lesson or activity.  

 

Benefits to my students

Calm down corners have been proven to be a successful strategy in helping students who become angry or upset. They are generally very comfortable areas in the classroom which provide fidget toys, coloring pages, comforting books, or other materials to help students deal with their big emotions.  

 

Budget Narrative

I am requesting $67.41 for supplies for my Calm Down Corner. A book for students to read about their emotions and feelings and other items that will help to calm down my students so that they feel comfortable and are able to return to the group. This total include tax and shipping is complimentary on Amazon.
