Goal

Science can be a difficult subject for students to comprehend. Many students wrestle with the vocabulary and lack the motivation to master more challenging concepts. By reaching out, forming study groups, and rewarding struggling students, it will help them experience success and strive toward the next milestone.  

 

What will be done with my students

As a science coach, I will work with struggling students in a small group setting. They will keep track of their progress and earn rewards. With the generous donation from this grant, I will purchase materials to help create games and study resources for students. I will also purchase small prizes and set up a reward system as students progress and hit key milestones in their curriculum.  

 

Benefits to my students

Students will not only master key vocabulary and concepts, but will also develop self-confidence and a stronger determination to succeed in science. The success and positive attention students experience will help them to have a more optimistic attitude toward school in general and can be the difference between losing hope and turning a new leaf. 

 

Budget Narrative

Grant costs would cover study materials, vocabulary games, and prizes.
