Naples Luxury Builders - $303.00
Goal
My goal is to have multiple options for my students to move around the classroom to work where they are comfortable and to encourage collaborative learning with partners and groups.
What will be done with my students
Movement is critical in keeping kids engaged in their learning. Every day after our whole group lesson, my students are encouraged to move around the room to a comfortable spot to complete their work. Many of my fifth graders love to work on the carpets and floor and having an assortment of tools to help them work comfortably is a must. I'd like to have clipboards and lap desks for students to use when writing or working on their laptops, along with some durable floor cushions for the students who aren't sitting on one of the area rugs in my room.
Benefits to my students
Allowing students to move from their desks encourages them to work where they're comfortable, empowers them to choose to work with partners that don't sit at their tables, and engages them to focus on their work in a space of their choice. Along with movement and choice, flexible seating and flexible work options build leadership skills and responsibility in students when they are made to think critically about where and with whom they will accomplish their tasks each day.
