Thank you to the following investor for funding this grant.
Spurlino Foundation - $607.81
Goal
The goal of this project is for my students to master phonological awareness and phonics. These skills are the foundation for students to become fluent readers that are able to comprehend what they read and learn as they read.
What will be done with my students
I am in need of resources to support my students reading. Students are placed in groups based on their reading abilities and in second grade this is the bridge to fluently reading. My students work with me in a daily group and they also work in groups with their peers, without me, based on where they are in reading. I love to see their progress as they grow in reading through the year. My students would greatly benefit from these rotation projects which will help them greatly in becoming fluent readers and be able to comprehend/critically think as they learn through reading.
Benefits to my students
I expect my students to master phonological awareness and phonics skills to become fluent readers.
Budget Narrative
It will be approximately $607.81 for the literacy project for my 2nd graders.
