Thank you to the following investor for funding this grant.
Hillsborough Education Foundation - $82.00
Goal
This is my first full year teaching- I started in February of 2022, in the middle of the second semester, with little to nothing. I am excited to have my own classroom from the start. My goal is to create a welcome and safe environment for students right away, to ensure they are ready and eager to learn reading and writing at a deeper level.
What will be done with my students
The project will benefit students by allowing them to start the year on the right foot. I intend to have the supplies to give each student their own classroom notebook for Avid-level note taking that is to be kept in class. I also want to make sure that I am able to supply pens and pencils throughout the year. By displaying encouraging words, I am also hoping to create a positive learning environment.
Benefits to my students
I want to get students excited about reading again. Reading and writing is a skill that seems to be disappearing with the fast paced world of technology, and I want to get students to see how important these skills can be in college and beyond.
