Goal
The goal in 2nd grade is to increase fluency, which directly impacts comprehension.
What will be done with my students
Each week the students will read a fluency passage in class with their headphones. The computer records their reading and plays it back to them so they can hear themselves and set flexible goals for improvement.
Benefits to my students
With this technology they not only experience extra engagement and interaction, they get immediate feedback. Allowing a child to hear what they try to fluently read, allows them to reflect on what they hear, and allows them to set specific and meaningful goals. It gives goal setting a more concrete and powerful beginning as well as gives them the ability to actually HEAR their growth over time.
Budget Narrative
The budget is for 20 headphones with microphone. There is no shipping fee- order will be placed on Amazon Prime.
