Goal
As the Science Coach at Mike Davis and Herbert Cambridge Elementary Schools, my goal is to get a few teacher volunteers and about 15-20 students from Mike Davis Elementary and Herbert Cambridge Elementary to attend Collier County Public School's annual STEAM Expo!
What will be done with my students
Collier County Public Schools puts on an AMAZING STEAM Expo each school year. I have personally been to it several times with my own children and want to start giving my students the opportunities to attend as well. Many of our student's parents work on the weekends so they don't get the opportunity to attend the STEAM Expo. This project will get more students there!
We will invite 15-20 students from each school (Mike Davis and Herbert Cambridge) and attend the district's STEAM conference with them. Students will get to watch the exciting keynote speaker and then attend the STEAM village where they can participate in many of the hands on STEAM activities!
Students will learn a lot about Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math and will get many things to make and be able to take home with them when the Expo is done.
After the STEAM Expo, we'll take the kids to get lunch, before returning to the schools.
Benefits to my students
Students will get a whole new look at STEAM and how to do different things. The hands on activities will help reinforce what they've been learning in school,
Budget Narrative
This project will benefit students at Mike Davis and Herbert Cambridge Elementary Schools!
