Investor
Thank you to the following investor for funding this grant.
Women In Naples Giving Support (WINGS) - $939.82
Goal
For students who need visual support during the day to see themselves HAPPY in pictures on their classroom walls.
What will be done with my students
Students will be taught about emotions and what certain emotions LOOK like. Students will then be assigned a classmate and asked to (with teacher and student permission) catch an example of that student looking happy and use a school device to capture a picture of that student when they are feeling (and looking) happy. We would then like to be able to print those pictures in color and post a copy in each classroom.
Benefits to my students
Students will practice NOTICING when others are feeling happy, will understand that someone is looking for them to be happy and will be reminded in times of distress what it looks like (and hopefully feels like) to be happy.
Budget Narrative
Our students are working hard to recognize emotions in themselves and others. It is standard practice to show them pictures to help with this but research has shown that using pictures of themselves and their friends is more effective. We have not had the funding to print and display pictures of them.
