Goal

Students will show their leadership skills by organizing and executing drives that focus on communicating and providing military members with tokens or our appreciation. Students will learn more about how the military serves the role of protecting them.  

 

What will be done with my students

Students will communicate with military members by writing letters. Students will assemble care packages and send them to military members. Students will write holiday cards and send them to military members. Students will be visited by military members who will talk about their roles in defending and serving our country. Students will hold a special celebration for Veterans Day.  

 

Benefits to my students

Students will apply our character education skills from the 7 habits to the program to hold a better understanding of using leadership skills in community outreach.  

 

Budget Narrative

Line item 1 is the purchasing of stationary and envelopes to communicate with 50-100 military members year-long.
Line item 2 is the purchase of holiday cards and envelopes in bulk to send holiday greetings to as many military members as possible.
Line item 3 is to purchase care package items to assemble packages and send to as many military members as possible.
Line item 4 is to purchase the supplies to provide a spaghetti lunch that our students will prepare for our Veterans Day Celebration.
