Goal
I am excited to share our new schoolwide attendance program. We are looking to increase our schoolwide attendance from 89% (last year's avg.) to 95%. I have used staff and student feedback to help develop our NBA program (Never Been Absent scholar attendance program).
What will be done with my students
-Each month scholars will be honored for having perfect attendance. Their names will go up on the NBA bulletin board and they will be invited to our monthly "NBA Concession Stand" during their lunch time. They will also be able to take a "GAME WINNING SHOT" for an extra incentive. The class with the highest average will be awarded a pizza or ice cream party for their entire class.
-Every 2 months, scholars that have been meeting our 95% attendance goal will be invited to an AttenDANCE! These dances will be glow party themed. (5 dances total)
-Scholars with perfect attendance for the quarter will become draft prospects. They will be given a special award during our Quarterly awards ceremony.
-Scholars with perfect attendance for the semester will enter the draft. We will have a draft party during their lunch, and they will receive a custom jersey and personalized trading card to celebrate their success.
-We will also host small groups for students that have frequent absences. (ARS Attendance Rising Stars) We will discuss barriers and create alternative attendance plans to help increase their attendance percentage as well.
Benefits to my students
Our goal is to increase our schoolwide percentage from 89% to 95%. We know that if our scholars are not present , it will limit they learning opportunities. Which will ultimately affect their success.
We would also like to target our high flyers and work with families to identity barriers and work through them collaboratively.
