Goal

My goal is to provide access to a library to over 1,000 exciting learning song videos in the HeidiSongs catalog. This includes classic sing & spell, songs alphabet songs, phonics songs, and over 175 sight words songs plus all of the printable downloads. This material will help engage and teach sight words and phonics skills in a musical and magical way.  

 

What will be done with my students

I will use the year-long access to the music library to teach our critical Florida's BEST Language Arts Standards. Music is a great teacher and gets students of all abilities motivated and engaged. I will lead the students in dancing and singing while learning phonics and sight words skills with these excellent musical materials.  

 

Benefits to my students

Students learn best when moving and engaging in active lessons. My class will be able to stand by their desk in their "dancing spot" or march around the room singing to participate in these exciting learning songs. Music helps students learn and often can imprint ideas and words easier than the spoken word. Think how often the words to a song get stuck in your head! That is the goal with these sight word and phonics songs. Using this music program will help students improve on their district assessments in letters sounds, phonemic awareness, and sight words. This is a renewal of last year's grant and the students last year reached great accomplishments and achieved the high goal of 92 sight words so I know the students this year will love it and benefit greatly.

This pass provides one year of access to the music library.
