Goal
The goal is for students to learn from the perspective of children with disabilities. Students will be reading different books in small groups and then will present the summary of the book and the character's perspective to the class. Through this process, each student will learn about five different disabilities and the perspective of students affected by it.
What will be done with my students
We will be learning and applying different reading comprehension strategies daily as we work our way through the novels. Students will rehearse oral fluency and also teamwork skills. Most importantly, this project will help students empathize with others.
Benefits to my students
Students will increase oral fluency and comprehension while gaining insight into the perspective of others.
