Goal

To provide incentive to academically challenged students. These students have social and economic barriers that prevents their consistent strive toward their goal of graduating.


 

 

What will be done with my students

Students will receive gas gift card to aid in attendance. This will encourage module completion and their final goal of graduation. Food gift card will be given to students who have after school employment. Many of these students support household as well as themselves. This incentive would support and motivate them towards graduation. 

 

Benefits to my students

The drop-out prevention program provides positive options for building and strengthening curriculums in order to prevent students from dropping out of school.
This grant will provide additional support to students from low socioeconomic background with food and gas.

Describe the Students

My students are part of a drop-out prevention program. They are low academic performers, coming from various schools in the district. Eighty percent of our students have part time jobs. with hours ranging from four to seven hours, several days a week to support themselves and their homes
Seventy-five percent of our students struggle with attendance, reasons vary from, transport and or tiredness. Despite challenges students are still motivated to attend whenever possible.
