Goal

Provide online resources that can be used in the classroom, and at home for ESOL students. 

 

What will be done with my students

Imagine Learning online adaptive software program licenses: This program provides rigorous language development. I'll be able to access data that helps me drive instruction. Families often ask how they can help at home, but often don't speak English themselves, so this would be beneficial in those situations. This program offers individualized instruction supporting English language development. Students will be allowed to access the program during independent reading time, or with the ESOL teacher.  

 

Benefits to my students

We have many students who are coming in new to the country with little to no English. This program will accelerate their English language development. This program will bolster their confidence across all subject areas. Imagine learning will be used to enrich their instruction. It is aligned to BEST and WIDA standards, so it supports what is being taught in the classroom. The program can tailor the lessons directly to the student's academic needs. This program is research based, and would benefit our school, which includes many low socioeconomic backgrounds. 

 

Describe the Students

We have 70 ESOL students in our school. I support grades 1 and 2, and this would benefit all students as they move up in grade level. I personally teach 6 students who speak little to no English, and I feel there are more who would benefit from this resource.
