Goal
As a first-year teacher, I would like to create a literacy rich environment by building a classroom library that consists of books with varying genres and reading levels.
What will be done with my students
Students will be provided ample time throughout the week to choose books from our classroom library and practice their reading skills. Students will also have the opportunity to take books home to read at night.
Benefits to my students
It is important for students to have access to book every day that enhance and reinforce learning that takes place during daily instruction. By offering books with a wide range of genres, students are more likely to find reading material they are interested in reading. Reading for enjoyment helps students have fun but also practice daily skills and increase literacy levels.
Budget Narrative
Variety of books for the classroom library to meet the needs and interests of all students.
