Goal
To build student excitement with math & ELA with themed instruction that ties into our learning goals. Learning should be FUN!
What will be done with my students
Students will enter decorated room. They will wear vests and hats. Construction theme can be utilized during various math units including measurements & perimeter, building with manipulative cubes for addition, demolition with subtraction, and creating arrays. During ELA, it can be incorporated into building words during phonics lessons, or building stronger sentences. It would also make a great theme for a Fun Friday STEM lesson.
Benefits to my students
Theme Days allows students to explore and discover in new ways, creates excitement about learning, and introduces a connection to the real world.
