Goal

My project goal is to place a Ukelele into the hands of every 2nd and 3rd grade music student to use in class with our curriculum, Music Will.

What will be done with my students

The students at my school love music and are rock stars in music class! They enjoy expressing themselves through singing, moving, creating, instrument playing, improvising and writing their own songs. With this project, I want to be able to put an appropriate sized instrument into the hands of every student in second and third grade to engage them in our modern band curriculum, Music Will. Students will be learning musical concepts from our state standards while expressing themselves through performing the popular music they know and love! The ukeleles purchased will be used throughout the school year and for many years to come.

Benefits to my students

*Engage and motivate students.
*Retention and application of learning goals taught from our state standards and curriculum such as improvising music, reading music, composing music.
*Learn a new instrument.
