Helios Education Foundation - $898.00
Goal
I'm trying to fill out our instrument storage with the items necessary to create a functioning rock band program for students with Special needs and behavior issues
What will be done with my students
The instruments purchased will be used daily in the classroom to prepare for performances at school and in the community. Students will be using them to learn cover songs and to write original music.
Benefits to my students
Most of my students have no means of owning an instrument because of their social backgrounds or living situations so this would provide them an opportunity to create and inspire in an educational setting. By providing an array of different types of guitars it will allow the students to play different styles of music that standard acoustic guitars cannot manage.
Describe the Students
Every one of my students are labeled ESE. Many of them live in group homes/foster care. Many of them have been in Juvenile detention or in psychiatric facilities. All of them have a history of behavior issues.
Budget Narrative
The mini bass will help smaller students play the bass. The telecaster gives a very different tone used in country and modern rock music. Jackson is used for heavy metal. The Stratocaster is to help my left handed students.
