Goal

My goal is replenish the PE equipment for all scholars at Lealman Ave ES. I would like to provide the scholars with brand new colorful equipment, rather than have them use the run down supplies they have. New equipment will engage students’ performance and attention to task. The scholars will learn age appropriate games. We are building their listening skills, team engagement, fair play and sportsmanship. In order to succeed, we need to provide the proper equipment that pertains to the skill we are teaching. So by the end of the school year, K - 5 PE students will access to the new equipment and will meet end of year expectation in PE per PCSB assessments. 

 

What will be done with my students

We will provide opportunities for all the scholars in grades K - 5 to use the proper equipment for teaching the Florida State Standards in PE. When given the correct tools, we believe each scholar will have opportunity to increase their knowledge of the activity taught. The proper equipment will help scholars learn and connect with the activity taught.  

 

Benefits to my students

The scholars at Lealman Ave ES come from low socio-economic families. They do not have the resources, means or the family structure that enables them to learn hands on sports games/activities. We would like to make a difference in each of our scholars' lives. PE is a fun, break in the day from the academic stress that scholars face each day. We would like to provide new, colorful equipment to help them experience fun activities.  

 

Describe the Students

The scholars at Lealman Ave ES consist of General Education and ESE students. The school has an assortment of low performers and high performers. Lealman Ave ES demographics are : Free / Reduce lunch ( all kids are eligible for free breakfast and lunch) We have currently 395 total enrolled at Lealman Ave ES.

Minority=198
We at PE are trying to reach each and everyone of them.

 

 

Budget Narrative

Sports equipment for Primary and Intermediate Grades. This would include dodgeballs/gator balls, pillow hockey equipment, etc. Thank you for this opportunity.
