Goal
To help students at all grade levels to improve their hand eye coordination and also learn to work together to complete different tasks.
What will be done with my students
Students will be introduced to speed stacking cups, the basic stack combinations, and how they can practice to get faster by using videos online while working with others in their class. Students can practice with each other to build the 3-3-3 stack, the 3-6-3 stack and the cycle which uses all 12 cups. This is a great way for students to compete with each other in a friendly way, while also hitting different curriculum standards across the K-5 grade levels.
Benefits to my students
Introducing Speed Cups to my students will help them with their hand eye coordination, teach them how to compete in an appropriate way, and also help to teach different Florida PE Standards in a fun and unique way. Students will also be able to work with each other to use the cups in ways outside of just speed stacking. This would be a great addition to our PE department here at Herbert Cambridge. Thank you for your consideration.
Budget Narrative
I will purchase three 12 set bundles of the speed stack cups as well as a bag that can hold the cups so they will be kept neat and safe. Speed Stacking cups have a free replacement policy as well so no new cups will need to be ordered in the future.
