Goal
This grant will fund adaptive art supplies that can be safely and effectively used by our amazing students with unique needs and abilities.
What will be done with my students
At Nelson this school year we're excited to welcome three brand new ACCESS unit classrooms. This is the first time we have had the opportunity to have these students here, and the art room is not equipped with many of the adaptive art supplies that are instrumental in having art be accessible to a wide range of students with special needs.
Benefits to my students
Students in the ACCESS program will have access to safe and appropriate art supplies in their art class. These materials will be easily transported to the best environment to serve the students individual needs. These materials will aid in the creation of art, support additional goals set forth by therapists and other teachers, and allow students to become more independent and successful in reaching educational goals.
