Goal

As a newer initiative in CCPS elementary schools, Instructional Resource/Technology teachers will take on an entrepreneurship leader role. Students will work collaboratively in groups throughout the first semester to create and sell a product to solve a real-world problem. Students need access to materials in order to create their products. 

 

What will be done with my students

This program provides a way for young students to be exposed to (and empowered by) entrepreneurship. Students work in teams to develop a product, pitch their idea, and launch their business. The starting point for creation is ‘reduce, reuse, or recycle’ – which tends to inspire discussion and innovation around social good. The unit culminates in a marketplace experience. The classroom teachers collaborate with volunteer business professionals who mentor student teams, provide real-world context, and champion student efforts.  

 

Benefits to my students

Students will gain life long experience with exposure to learning critical skills and behaviors of entrepreneurs.
