Goal

My goal is to increase the listening comprehension of my 4th grade students.

What will be done with my students

I will choose books from the suggested BEST standards list, given to us by the state of Florida. I will purchase enough for every child to have one in their hands. I will read aloud daily to students to increase their enjoyment of hearing stories and being read to.

Benefits to my students

This group of students are our babies that spent the end of their kindergarten school year quarantined and isolated. Reading aloud to these students will increase their ability to sit still and listen. Show them that reading can be about enjoyment and not just learning. Being read aloud to will increase the listening comprehension skills and the reading comprehension skills of these students. Hearing these stories will increase their ability to understand what they read silently.
