Goal

The purpose of this grant proposal is to request funding to purchase 1 Rodgers sound field amplification systems for a classroom. These systems consist of a microphone for the teacher and strategically placed speakers throughout the classroom, ensuring that every student can clearly hear the teacher's instructions, lectures, and discussions. By utilizing this technology, we aim to improve classroom engagement, increase student participation, and enhance the overall learning experience for students with special education needs.

Budget:

The total cost per classroom for the Rodgers sound field amplification system is $1,123.26, which includes the microphone, speakers, and installation expenses. $1,123.26 x 1 classroom. We are requesting the purchase of one Rodgers Sound Field amplification system and two Epson x39 projectors total
 

 

What will be done with my students

Impact:

The implementation of sound field amplification systems will significantly benefit our students with special education needs by:

1. Enhancing Accessibility: Students with hearing impairments or auditory processing difficulties will have equal access to classroom instruction, ensuring that they do not miss important information or fall behind academically.

2. Increasing Engagement: By amplifying the teacher's voice, we aim to improve student engagement and active participation in classroom discussions, leading to enhanced learning outcomes.

3. Supporting Inclusive Education: The sound field amplification systems will create an inclusive learning environment where all students can fully participate and thrive, regardless of their individual learning needs.

4. Addressing Equity: As an under-resourced Title 1 school, we face inequities in educational resources. This grant will bridge the resource gap and provide equal opportunities for all our students, regardless of their socio-economic background.

Increased classroom participation, improved behaviors, higher reading proficiency scores for students impacted by the project.
