Investor
Thank you to the following investor for funding this grant.
Drs. Carl and Anne Angstrom - $212.27
Goal
My goal is to transform my classroom into a poetry cafe for my students to be fully immersed in poetry to prepare for the FSA!!!
What will be done with my students
With these supplies I will create a "Starbooks" Cafe in my classroom. Students will decode poems while working on fluency. They will also take a deep dive into figurative language (being able to identify and understand why an author uses such language). Poetry can be a struggle for 4th graders and we are hoping this will help encourage them to enjoy it!
Benefits to my students
This will make poetry less overwhelming and more fun and engaging for students. The benefit will be that all of my students will master poetry since they will be very engaged! After this room transformation, hopefully all 40 of my students will feel differently about poetry in a positive way!
Budget Narrative
With the supplies listed above, I will be able to have a week long poetry room transformation plus have a fun snack and reward stickers for all students!!!
