Goal

These materials will be used in my small group intervention. Students will be exposed to different types of materials at the same time hitting the standards they need to learn.  

 

What will be done with my students

Our school is Title 1. Students needs more time on small group and interventions. They are the low achiever students. Even if they are low, they enjoy small group a lot. I wanted them to experience using nice and purposeful instructional materials as I support them in small groups. In this way, it strives and excites them. They love writing and filling out graphic organizers.

Benefits to my students

At the end of the school year, students will be familiar with the different text structures, develop reading comprehension skills, can easily locate text evidence and be familiarized with the appropriate reading strategies to be used in each kind of text they will read.

Rest assured that I will do post test after using these resources. Pretest were done already, that's why I decided to do this project in my class. The test results from the pretest shows that students are lack of knowledge and practice regarding the different text structures. Tracking back the previous school year results, these text structures were also the least learned items. With these said materials, I will not just hit the text structures but also develop their fluency and reading skills.
