Investor
Thank you to the following investor for funding this grant.
Hillsborough Education Foundation - $2,500.00
Goal
Potter ES utilizes the house system to build school spirit, allowing students to develop mentor relationships, and promoting collaboration. The project goal is to have establish four outdoor classrooms, one for each house.
What will be done with my students
Although most public-school children do get to go on a field trip away from school once or twice a year, it often isn’t the norm for students to enjoy nature as a part of their school day. Unfortunately, students who don’t have the opportunity to learn outdoors may be missing out on opportunities to excel both academically and socially. Students who get to experience an outdoor learning environment tend to be more attentive and, therefore, have a better recollection of the information that was shared. The four outdoor classrooms at Potter ES will benefit all students academically as well as emotionally and socially.
Benefits to my students
Along with other funds raised, the LTB group will completely renovate three existing outdoor classrooms to alleviate safety concerns and build a brand new one so that all four houses have an outdoor learning space of their own,
