Goal
We are excited to embark on our Gibbs High School Choir Tour during Spring Break 2025.
What will be done with my students
This culturally immersive 8-day trip is the first of its kind for our school and life-changing for our students as we perform choir concerts in Spain and Portugal.
Benefits to my students
Students will have the opportunity to travel and perform internationally. This once-in-a-lifetime experience will not only change student lives but help them understand music history and music performance.
Describe the Students
Gibbs High School is one of the oldest public schools in Pinellas County, and prior to its opening, there were no high schools in St. Petersburg serving African American students. Several choir members have requested full financial assistance to pay for this trip and 75% of our student body is eligible for free/reduced lunches. We request assistance to help our students travel with us regardless of their family financial status.
Budget Narrative
We are requesting $1000.00 to assist with student financial needs. The total all-inclusive cost per student for this trip is $3,000.00 for our trip from the United States to Spain and Portugal.
