My goal is for students and guests to have a red carpet to walk on during our yearly Wax Museum.

What will be done with my students

Each year my third-grade students choose a person to research that has had a positive impact on our world in some way. They learn the entire research process including how to cite their sources. They spend over a month researching their person and compiling all of their information into a biography and a tri-fold board. They create maps, word clouds, timelines, and even draw a portrait to portray their person. On the day of the wax museum, they transform into their significant person. They wear similar attire and present to their peers and visitors which includes their families. Most even have their speeches memorized. It is a special event in their lives that they never forget. Having an actual red carpet would make the day even more special for the students and their guests. 

 

Benefits to my students

Normally on the day of the wax museum each year we use red bulletin board paper to lay down as a red carpet. However, it quickly rips due to all the foot traffic and starts to look messy. Having an actual red carpet that rolls out would be so exciting for the students and would not rip as visitors come through. It would look amazing during the event and could be used for many years to come!

The cost of the 3 x 15 ft red roll out carpet is 65.99 and $3.96 for tax. Shipping is free due to Amazon Prime.
