Goal

Our goal is to bring stories to life in the classroom. The students will be able to become characters in the story where they can retell, use voice and practice fluency by acting the book out for fellow classmates. This will help build confidence and comprehension of a story for students of all backgrounds.

Clothing/Backpacks - T-shirts/jerseys, concert performance shirts, backpacks, duffle bags, etc. 

 

What will be done with my students

Imagine walking into a room that looks like a world from Dr. Seuss, or taking flight like Neil Armstrong, or exploring the forest as Little Red Riding hood, these are the things that help imagination grow as students are reading, decoding words, and practicing their fluency The students will get to create sets and learn to work cooperatively as they dress up to immerse themselves into a story book world.  

 

Benefits to my students

The benefits will be endless as this will reach all of our students' learning abilities. The visual learner, the kinesthetic learner, the audio learner, the learner of a second language will all be engaged and excited to learn because they will be able to express their learning in a way that is best for them. With the use of the costumes, props, backdrops and books the students will become successful building their journey of becoming life long learners.  

 

Budget Narrative

We will purchase t-shirts for the students to be used as dress up, props, books, and supplies.
