Goal

At Educational Pathways Academy, we work with students who have language-based learning disabilities such as dyslexia. Our students learn differently, and it is our goal to provide as many learning modalities as possible so that students can engage in the learning process.

My goal is to ensure that students in my math class can see problems and manipulatives fully and clearly, so that the have full access to my teaching.

What will be done with my students

I am seeking funding for a Document Camera, which will become a vital part of classroom instruction on a daily basis for my students. During the lesson, students will see a projected image of a problem or concept, and I will model the solution or method of addressing the subject matter. Students will have a clear visual experience of the process in real time, creating a seamless classroom experience. Providing this kind of access allows me to maximize the time I have with my students.



 

 

Benefits to my students

Language based learning disabilities impact all aspects of a student's school day. As a teacher of students who learn differently, I am always exploring ways to remove barriers, distractions, and outdated approaches that cause frustration or waste time. With this Document Camera, students will experience the best possible access to the instruction I am providing. This tool benefits my students because they are able to visualize the process of navigating a math problem clearly and in real time. Gaining skills in math is just one part of helping our students make academic gains and discover their true abilities through thoughtful learning accommodations.  

 

Budget Narrative

I am requesting funding for one Document Camera Projector. This tool will be used for daily instruction in all of my math classes.
