Goal
My goal is to provide students with the tools to improve reading fluency and more opportunities for movement within the classroom setting to improve student engagement.

What will be done with my students
Third grade is a high stakes year for students who must pass curriculum and the FAST test in order to be promoted to fourth grade. Students are working on improving reading fluency and comprehension. Additionally, many need opportunities for increased movement in the classroom beyond traditional seating. Therefore, I would like to provide whisper phones to students to help with focus on reading passages they struggle with and offer a variety of seating options to be implemented immediately and continue to be used for future classes.
Benefits to my students
I teach approximately 40 students. Whisper phones are a great tool to help students read aloud while not disturbing others, yet students would still be able to hear themselves read. This helps not only with reading fluency but also with reading comprehension which is a struggle for many at this grade level. Additionally, flexible seating is a great benefit to students who need increased mobility in a classroom setting. I currently have 5 wobble stools which is nowhere near enough for the number of students wanting to use this option. I would like to provide more varieties of seating.
