What will be done with my students

I plan on using games to help students learn letter recognition, vocabulary, phonetic skills, and language building with games and manipulatives.

Some of my students are non verbal and I have chosen items to help students with language development and games with manipulatives with pictures so that I can get a better understanding of their learning and communication.

One of my students is deaf. I have chosen games with pictures and manipulatives to help him to learn to read, communicate and learn sign language.

Some of my students are at different levels of reading. I am a veteran first grade teacher that has transferred to fourth grade ESE, but not all of my students are on a first grade level. I need a variety of grade level games and activities that will meet my students where they are.

All of the items will be used throughout the year. My students have annual goals and accommodations that I must provide for my students to be successful.

Benefits to my students

The games I have selected to help my students (18 fourth graders with different exceptionalities) will benefit my students at their individual level. I have students that are deaf, that need exposure to pictures to help with sign language and communication. I have students that are non verbal and the games will help build peer relationships and show me their level of understanding through manipulation of pictures. I teach a range of abilities and the items I have chosen will benefit the different abilities, exceptionalities and accommodations.

Budget Narrative

I am a 2nd year ESE teacher building a classroom to support my students and their exceptionalities. All of the items I have chosen are to help with their learning goals. They are all chosen from Lakeshore and I have read the reviews and I have chosen items with high review and recommendations.
