Goal
I would like to purchase 7 standing whiteboards, 5 magnetic coordinate grids, and whiteboard supplies. My goal is for students to have opportunities to practice math, while discussing and collaborating with their peers. Purchasing these whiteboards will provide enough space for partners or small groups to work through challenging math tasks. I believe this project will support my ultimate goal of student growth in mathematics.

What will be done with my students
My students will use these standing whiteboards to solve math problems and collaborate with peers. The size and placement of these whiteboards will make it possible for me to see each groups' work with a glance around the room. The boards also make it easy for students to share their work with other groups because of their size and portability.
The magnetic coordinate grids will attach to the whiteboard and allow students to solve problems involving the coordinate plane.
Benefits to my students
I believe the best way to learn math is through application. My students will greatly benefit from having opportunities to apply their math knowledge and collaborate with their peers. This project will be evaluated by the end of year Math FAST test. I expect at least 80% of my students to show growth on the end of the year Math FAST compare to the previous year's score.
Not only will this project benefit 150 students for the current school year, but it will also benefit unlimited students in the future as the boards continue to be utilized.
