Goal
For each of my students to communicate through expression with various art materials. Using art materials properly, engaging with crafts, and showing their unquie personalities while mastering their IEP goals/benchmarks, across all learning domains with the use of the arts.

What will be done with my students
I will provide a variety of tools, learning strategies, sensory-friendly textures, and independent crafting center time for exploration for my students. I will also introduce the many styles of art variations (clay, watercolor, stamping, scented playdough, paint markers, etc). With some having limitations, expressing themselves will not be limited through expressions with arts/crafts.
Benefits to my students
Research in the medical field has shown that engaging in creative arts can lower stress levels, which subsequently improves learning capabilities. Furthermore, since procedural memory tends to be more dependable than short-term memory, the regular practices and routines involved in expressive art classes help individuals with special needs to better remember and benefit from their knowledge and experiences.
Budget Narrative
This is my first year as an educator. Therefore, I have very limited supplies and a low budget to start with. I purchased many items for my classroom out of pocket but in reality, I still do not have basic art supplies. These supplies would be very helpful for me as some materials, my students have not been introduced to. I would love to provide them with more opportunities to explore their personalities as well as communicate through their projects.
