Goal
EduProtocols are research-based instructional lesson frames that are designed to engage students in learning through critical thinking, collaboration, communication, and creativity. Using EduProtocols in the classroom effectively raises interest, creativity, and understanding about our units of study, increasing test scores, and quality of work. Adapting this with my curriculum, all of the above with seamlessly enhance both teaching and learning styles, and students will RETAIN what they learn. It's about mastery, not memorization!

What will be done with my students
EduProtocols makes workflow easy by allowing students to understand the process in order to stay focused on learning of the content. This is a year-long teaching strategy putting the responsibility of learning in the student's hands, permanently integrated in the classroom instruction.
The following are learning strategies done regularly (daily/weekly) with the students:
Wicked Hydra- designed to foster deep questioning and collaborative thinking by having students build upon each other's questions in a branching, mind map-like structure. Students will use the Wipeboards to ask questions about a concept or picture and build upon others' questions.
Fast and Curious- uses computer-based gaming to help students learn new information through repetition and to collect data.
Iron Chef- a student-centered jigsaw that is used to connect content to standards where students read, synthesize, create, and present to their peers.
Cyber Sandwich- a structured pair-share activity designed to meet the needs of diverse learners including our low percentile, English Language Learners, and students with special needs.
Benefits to my students
How EduProtocols Will Help My Students
What I Hope to See in My Classroom
-More kids jumping into discussions and activities
I'll keep an eye on who's speaking up and joining in
I'll ask students how they feel about participating in class
-Students becoming better problem-solvers
I'll look at how they tackle tricky questions and open-ended projects
We'll do fun problem-solving challenges and see how they improve over time
-Students working together like pros
I'll watch how they handle group projects
We'll practice giving helpful feedback to each other
-Kids remembering what they learn for longer
We'll do quick check-ins to see what stuck from previous lessons
I'll look at how well they connect ideas from different units
Students becoming tech-savvy
We'll try out different educational apps and tools, but mainly Quizziz for our Fast and Curious.
What We'll Create Together
A collection of exciting lesson plans using EduProtocols
A set of go-to activities we can use in different subjects
A classroom where technology helps us learn better
How Many Students Will Benefit
This year: 115 bright minds in my five classes
In the future: Potentially hundreds more as I keep using and improving these methods
How I'll Know It's Working
We'll start by looking at where we are now:
Last year's test scores
How students feel about school at the beginning of the year
How well they're doing in different subjects
Throughout the year, I'll keep track of:
How students are doing on their assignments and tests
Who's participating more in class
What students and parents think about our new way of learning
At the end of the year, we'll look at:
If test scores have gone up
Whether students seem more excited about learning
If kids are working together better
How much they remember from earlier in the year
If they're more confident using technology
I'll write up what worked well, what challenges we faced, and how we can make it even better next year.
What We Need to Make It Happen
A class set of headphones
A yearly subscription to Quizziz
A set of Wipebooks for the classroom
A lifetime subscription to EduProtocols community
With these tools and methods, I'm excited to create a classroom where every student is engaged, thinking critically, and learning skills they'll use for years to come. EduProtocols will help me make learning more fun and effective for all my students.
