Goal

We would like to be awarded 500.00 so we could purchase 10 Tablets for our Reading Department to increase student achievement and teach 21st Century Skills. 

 

What will be done with my students

Students will gain computer knowledge, learn 21st Century skills as well as preparing for the FSA ELA test. We use the Achieve reading program that has shown increased student learning gains when performed correctly. We need additional computers so our students can correctly utilize this program and ultimately benefit from this program. Students will also be able to register for ACT test and apply to colleges. 

 

Benefits to my students

Technology in the classroom is becoming more and more predominant. Our department knows that technology has a positive impact in the education process. And we also recognize the importance of developing these technological skills in students so they will be prepared to enter the workforce once they complete their schooling. By integrating technology into the classroom, we are changing the way we to teach to meet students where they are. We are also providing students with the tools that will take them into the 21st century. 

 

Budget Narrative

To work this program effectively, we need a classroom set of computers for each reading teacher. We would certainly welcome "gently used" computers as well as new ones.
