Goal
One of the main goals of children in ESE PreK is improving communication skills. Since children love to talk, pretend, and learn about community workers (police, firefighters, postal workers, etc), what better way to encourage language and improve communication skills?
What will be done with my students
Students will learn about community workers with a variety of hands-on materials to encourage listening and speaking skills. Students will identify and match workers with their tools and tasks, talk about what each worker does, and role play to increase vocabulary. Students will be encouraged to interact with others while reinforcing social skills and interactive play.
Benefits to my students
Students will increase their listening and speaking skills, increase vocabulary and reinforce social skills through play-based learning, which is the primary way special needs preschoolers learn.
Budget Narrative
Items will be purchased from Lakeshore Learning and Kaplan Learning.
